Prayer when plans change

Lord, this isn't how I thought things would go. I had a plan, and it fell apart.

I'm disappointed. Maybe a little embarrassed. I'm trying not to be bitter about it.

I believe you can work all things together for good, even this. I don't see how yet, but I'm choosing to trust you.

I pray for friends whose plans have collapsed too: the closed door, the cancelled wedding, the job that didn't happen. Comfort them, and quietly open a better way forward.

Help me hold my plans more loosely from now on.

Let me look back one day and see your hand in this, even if all I can see right now is the mess. Amen.
