A short morning prayer

Prayer for patience

A prayer for a short fuse and slow results.

Prayer · 1 min

Patience, please

Lord, I'll be honest: I'm not a patient person, and today I can already feel my fuse getting short.

I want things to move faster, people to get it sooner, and results to show up right away.

Teach me to keep doing good, even when I don't see anything happening yet.

I pray for people who are tired of doing the right thing with no reward in sight. The teachers, the caregivers, the parents of toddlers and teenagers. Give them a second wind today.

Help me take a breath before I react, and choose grace over irritation.

Remind me that you've been incredibly patient with me, and that some of the best things grow slowly. Amen.

And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.
Galatians 6:9 (ESV)
