You are here
Lord, sometimes I pray like you're far away and I have to shout to reach you.
But you're already here. In this room, in this breath, in this ordinary Tuesday or whatever day it is.
There's nowhere I can go today that you won't be, the commute, the office, the hospital waiting room, the kitchen.
I pray for friends who feel far from you right now. Some of them have stopped praying altogether. Let them sense you near, even if they don't have words for it yet.
Help me practice remembering you all day long, not just at the start.
Your hand will guide me and hold me. I'm resting in that this morning. Amen.
If I take the wings of the morning and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea, even there your hand shall lead me, and your right hand shall hold me.
