Teach me to listen

Holy Spirit, I do most of the talking when I pray. Today I'd like to listen more.

So I'm going to slow down and leave some space. Speak if you want to. I'm paying attention.

You promised to instruct me and teach me the way I should go. Help me notice your nudges through the day.

Help me listen to the people around me, too. I pray for someone who needs to be heard today, really heard, not fixed. Let me be that person for them if I can.

Quiet the voices in me that criticize and compare.

Let your voice be the one I hear clearest, and let it sound like love. Amen.

I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my eye upon you.
