A short morning prayer

Prayer to forgive someone

A prayer for when you're still angry with someone and want to let it go.

Learning to forgive

Father, there's someone I'm still angry with. You know who, and you know why.

I've replayed it so many times. Part of me wants to keep holding it, because letting go feels like saying it didn't matter.

But you've forgiven me for so much. I don't want bitterness to be the thing that grows in me.

I pray for that person this morning, honestly and a little reluctantly. Bless them. Meet them where they are. And bless anyone else I've been keeping at arm's length.

Help me forgive one small step at a time, even if I have to start over tomorrow.

Soften my heart where it's gone hard, and thank you for every time you've softened toward me. Amen.

Bless the LORD, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless his holy name! Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits…
Psalm 103:1–2 (ESV)

Pray it with your people

Every morning, PrayerBoard puts the day's prayer at the top of your Home screen and opens it in a teleprompter view that moves at a slow, prayerful pace. Some days come with a recording to pray along with. Then share what's on your heart with the few people who pray for you.
