Prayer of the day · Wed, Sep 2 · 1 min

When it feels dark

Lord, my soul feels heavy, and I'm not totally sure why.

It's like a fog rolled in and stayed. I'm going through the motions, but there's not much light in them.

I'm not going to pretend with you. I'm low this morning. But I'm still here, and I'm still talking to you.

Please be with others who feel this way, especially anyone who is hiding it well. Send them a friend, a song, a reason to reach out. Keep them safe until the light comes back.

Help me take care of myself today in small ways: eat, step outside, tell someone the truth.

I will yet praise you, even if right now it's mostly a whisper. Amen.

Why are you cast down, O my soul, and why are you in turmoil within me? Hope in God; for I shall again praise him, my salvation and my God.
Psalm 42:11 (ESV)
