Strength for today

Jesus, I'm tired in a way that sleep didn't fix. I'm not sure how much I have in me today.

You never asked me to run on my own fumes. You said you'd renew strength for people who wait on you, so I'm waiting.

Give me enough for this morning. I'll come back and ask again at lunch.

Be strong for my friends who are running on empty too: the parents up all night, the ones working two jobs, the ones caring for someone who is sick. Hold them up where they can't hold themselves.

Help me do the next right thing, and let the rest wait without guilt.

When I feel weak, let it be a reminder to lean on you instead of a reason to give up. Amen.

But they who wait for the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.
Isaiah 40:31 (ESV)
