Peace in the noise
Lord Jesus, everything around me is loud. The news, the group chats, my own head.
You said you leave your peace with us, and that it's different from the kind the world hands out. I want that kind.
Not a peace that depends on everything going well, but one that holds when it doesn't.
Please give that same peace to the people I'm praying for this morning. The friend in the middle of a hard decision. The family member who can't sleep. The neighbor I wave to but don't really know.
Help me be a calm place for someone today instead of adding to the noise.
When my heart starts to get troubled, bring me back to you, quietly and kindly. Amen.
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.
