Prayer while you're waiting

The prayer of the day on September 30, 2026. Read it slowly, or pray it again today.

Prayer of the day · Wed, Sep 30 · 1 min

In the waiting

Lord, I'm still waiting. On news, on an answer, on something to finally change.

Some days I'm patient about it. Today I'm mostly frustrated, and I think you can handle me saying so.

Help me be strong and take heart, even when nothing seems to be moving.

I think of friends who are waiting too, for a diagnosis, a baby, a job offer, a prodigal to come home. Hold their hope gently so it doesn't break. Let them feel you near while the clock ticks.

Teach me what you want me to learn in this in-between place.

I don't want to waste the waiting by only staring at the door. Help me live well right here. Amen.

Wait for the LORD; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the LORD!
Psalm 27:14 (ESV)
