Handing it over
Lord, I've been carrying something heavy for a while now, and I'm worn out from it.
I keep picking it back up, as if worrying about it harder will somehow fix it.
You told me to cast my burdens on you, and that you would sustain me. So I'm putting this down at your feet, again.
I pray for friends carrying heavy things today, a marriage in trouble, a child who's struggling, a debt that won't go away. Take what's too heavy for them, and let them sleep tonight.
Help me trust you with what I can't control.
And when I reach to pick it back up, gently remind me that it's in better hands now. Amen.
Cast your burden on the LORD, and he will sustain you; he will never permit the righteous to be moved.
