Not giving up
Some days I want to quit, God, and today is one of them. It's been hard for a long time.
I'm not sure if I need to keep going or let it go. Either way, I don't want to lose heart.
Even when I feel worn down on the outside, renew me on the inside, day by day.
I pray for friends who are right on the edge of giving up, on a dream, a relationship, a recovery, or themselves. Give them one more day of strength, and someone to cheer them on.
Help me tell the difference between quitting and resting.
And whatever I decide, let me make that choice with you, not out of exhaustion. Amen.
So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day.
