The prayer of the day on September 17, 2026. Read it slowly, or pray it again today.

Prayer of the day · Thu, Sep 17 · 1 min

Keep us safe

Lord, before everyone scatters for the day, I want to ask you to watch over us.

Over the drives and the flights, the schools and the job sites, the walks home after dark.

You watch over our coming and going, now and always. Thank you that you never fall asleep on the job.

I pray for the people I love by name, and for those who work in dangerous places: soldiers, firefighters, nurses, people in places at war. Protect their bodies and their hearts.

Help me not to live in fear, but to trust you with the people I can't keep safe on my own.

Bring us all home tonight, and let us be grateful when we get there. Amen.

The LORD will keep you from all evil; he will keep your life. The LORD will keep your going out and your coming in from this time forth and forevermore.
Psalm 121:7–8 (ESV)
